Question Getting Gladiator Title from Random Arenas

I've been working towards getting this title since I got factions about a week ago because I did'nt see alot of people sporting this title in towns and stuff while going through factions and I was like heyy that'd be a hot title and it covers your whole account.
So far I've gotten 4/25 points but it's rough. I mean everytime I've gotten the points I've had a monk in my team. Every other time I've gotten smushed at 2 or 3 wins and sometimes even 1 without a monk. I also noticed that most of the people standing in random arenas who have the title are monks, i've seen one necromancer and one warrior but that's it. I've set my build to be a mage slayer, but it seems like all the monks use now are boon-protection and that mantra of energy thing and contemplation of purity and remove my daze sometimes.
My question is that does anyone else who has the gladiator title from random arenas see this pattern also and have got all their wins this way? Oh yeah I'm not going to team arenas because I don't want to figure out how to put all the counters in my build for all the gimmic builds in there.

I'm getting my title there as well, and it's tough.
You've just got to have some luck and get proper players in your team. It helps if you're a good boon prot yourself as well.

I noticed that most of the times we're in our 9th or 10th win, we always face a hard team, which is just bad luck I guess. But then again, the fact that it's tough makes the title only look better when you've finally got it

Got a few points for myself without monks on the team while playing warrior and ranger. Those kind of teams tend to be the most fun and interesting ones.

I've got almost all my glad points from RA, the vast majority of which from playing warrior. Even if you are a godly monk, if you join a team with no damage you'll likely get owned.

Sync enter RA is the best way to do it. When you have 2-3 team mates that you know vs a bunch of random people its rather easy.

My friend is working on the 3rd lvl of this title right now. He's insane. Think he said its 250 points.

I'm a stubborn person. When my monk hits the RA's, he'll be healing until Victory or Death!

It's rough, I've played with my boonprot there and all too often I end up with a team who:

1: Overextends like an inflexible gymnast
2: Can't kill a thing
3: Griefs, leaves, sets for running, doesn't bring a sig, etc.

Getting Glad points in RA is a major pain.

If I had points for every time my team screwed up on round 10, I'd probably be into tier 3 of the title already. As it stands now, I'm not even at tier 1.

Dr. Strangelove summed it up very nicely. I'd add "Leeroying" high onto that list as well even though it sort of is covered by the "overextending" point.

And many times even if people do bring sigs in RA, they don't bother to actually use them.

Yanman thinks he has 350, if you believe what he says on IRC

Pretty simple. Just monk. If your team isn't very good and isn't killing fast enough, just leave after the next win. Or leave in-game if its taking too long.

Of course, we don't want everyone to be monks. Just make a good RA build. Something physical with a little self heal is always good. Even the pre-made paladin has enough damage and self support to kill in RA and still stay alive.

sync enter again get same Me/N and hammer war, got 45 consec

out of the total 57 matches all were flawless except for 2.. not so hard if you have friends. took like 3 hours? not sure.

Hell RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing no. As if there aren't enough mending paladins. Ffs I had 5, count um, 5 people in my group in pve today using mending. Two nub wammos, an ele, a necro, and a freakin mesmer. They deal 0 damage and make you think your not absolutely horrible.

I've only got 1 glad point - was really, really bored and PvE didn't look particularly attractive that night, but our team didn't have a monk. I played a cripshot/poison ranger, teamed with a touch ranger, a wammo and an air ele.

I usually monk for glads title.

Boon prot is the easiest method for title in RA.

I leave as soon as i see mending on my team, or watchful spirit or live vicarously. (spelling..)

Heh, a lot of monks do that. On one group I kept telling the wammo at the beginning of each match "if you put mending on the monk, we'll last longer." Around match 3 he finally did, and we got our 10. Out of 39 glad points, I believe that's the only one I got with a wammo on my team (except when I was playing mine). I've only gotten one with a touch ranger on my team. They're too easy to shut down to count on for the long haul. If I'm on a team that likely has no chance, I'll at least suffer the first match with them, and if we do win, I'll leave before the countdown begins for the next round, so they won't be stuck with a 3v4.

Here's a good thread for some advice on winning in RA. I have "gotten my 10" without a monk a few times, but everyone in your group has to be on top of their game to do so.

There are a TON of Leeroy assassins and Warriors (and EVERY class has plenty of players guilty of not bothering with that useless skill called Resurrection Signet ), and getting wins in RA is often nothing more than a test of your patience. Eventually you'll get put on a good team, and it's up to you (and them) to make the most of it. There are a lot of very bad monks out there too, so don't automatically think you'll go far just because you have a monk. As has been said, the only way to guarantee you have a monk on your team is to play one. I don't, so I accept the fact that I may have to wade through a lot of shit to get through the roses.

You know that new mesmer elite that makes every spell a foe casts cause exhaustion? If you echoed that, what do you suppose it'd do to a boon protector? I'm just curious... You could probably chain it for 16 seconds.
